It means Follicular Unit Transplantation. It is also called STRIP method. In this a strip of hair is taken out from the back of the head by cutting the skin of the scalp. Wound thus created is stitched in two layers. Grafts or Follicular Units are dissected out from the strip by stereoscopic microscopic technique and then implanted in the bald area. It is an outdated method according to us still being practised all over the world because it is much easier to perform and requires a smaller team of assistants.
